Where to Go for Health Insurance Coverage
You now have different ways to get health insurance. These include options that help you to shop for coverage. The health care law also offers options for individuals and families who could not afford or get coverage before.
You can enroll in a plan for 2018 on the Health Insurance Marketplace at healthcare.gov during open enrollment, from November 1, 2017 through December 15, 2017.
You can buy a plan directly from a health insurance company or from a broker who may represent several insurers.
You can enroll in an employer-sponsored plan if your employer offers group coverage. Be sure to ask your employer if they provide health insurance.
You may be able to qualify for a government plan. When you apply for health coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace, you may find that you qualify for a low-cost or free government program, such as Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
